I think I'll be good for the rest of the summer. Note that the notebook next to the pile is 11 inches tall. btw, finished flowers for algernon over the weekend, in between studying. Or, I suppose I was studying in between reading. Darn.

What goes on in my head when I'm doing dishes?

1) Draft emails. Not ones addressed to myself, but real ones, to real people.
2) Worry about the big problems in life.
3) Worry about the little problems in life.
4) Sing songs.
5) Imagine future conversations to take place in the future.
6) Draft blog entries that I type out later on. Like this one.

At the house that I lived in long long ago, there was a triptych mirror in the bathroom. When the two opposite faces of the mirror were flipped out so that they faced each other, the mirrors endlessly reflected off of each other. Sticking your hand in between the mirror yielded hundreds of reflections of your hand, both the palm and back, because it reflected off of both mirrors. I liked to pretend that you could reach into infinity.

On a sadder note, I haven't got pictures to post.

I remember back in the second grade, when our teacher asked us how many sets of teeth we grow in our lifetime, I genuinely thought that we went through five sets of teeth. I was so disappointed, because here I was, 7 years old, and I had already started losing my first set! How would my second set of teeth ever make it past the time when I'm fourteen or fifteen?

Ever had that strange dream where your tooth would feel loose, then you'd reach into your mouth and effortlessly yank it out? Every time I wake up from one of those, I'd jiggle each tooth to make sure that they're still securely attached to the inside of my gums.

Book List

Books to read over the summer (Feel free to add to the list!):
Flowers for Algernon
Choke
Stranger than Fiction
Haunted
Naked
Barrel Fever
Complications
Les Mis (?)

It hasn't yet hit me how demanding summer academics can be. I hope it does soon, cuz it'll get real difficult, real soon.

On another note, surviving quite nicely with a rice cooker and ample culinary supplies. That, and eating out about four times out of the past six days.

I still have absolutely no idea how to make curry. Why oh why do a bunch of recipes call for yogurt? Eww. Oh well, back to googling recipes.

In related news, the the curcumin in curry - and turmeric, which has also found company, along with curry, in my ever growing spice rack... well, not so much a rack, more like a menagerie - slows down the effects of alzheimer's.
