When I was your age...
Kids these days don't know how good they've got it.
When I was your age, kids were just starting to carry around cell phones. Not the fancy-pants smart ones, but the ones where all you used them for was to make calls. The greatest "feature" on the phone was Snake. The screen was monotone, with a green backlight. None of this texting stuff. Why, nowadays, kids use their phones primarily to type out text messages to their friends! Who are sitting right next to them! I can't even begin to tell you what's wrong with that. It's not like they were in a place where phone calls are not allowed either. Turn your head around to make conversation! None of this "OMG LAWLL roflcopter" crap, but a nice, normal coversation. It's seriously impeding some peoples' ability to communicate properly. Like the girl who sent 14,000 text messages in a month. How is that possible?!?
Now, kids age 12 need to have a cell phone. College kids need to have a blackberry. To that, I say NO. Why can't you wait an hour to check your email, why must you have it now? The spam and Internet porn will still be there, trust me.
Amazing advances in technology, but do we need it?
